VCE VM

What's been happening in VCE VM lately:

Year 11 students visited Box Hill Institute to discover what some of their courses look like. They toured numerous faculties including Music, Automotive, Building and Construction, Nursing and Early Childhood. They got to see cars that were donated and watch students working on them, and also observe Building and Construction students building tiny homes.

Year 12 students visited CareNet in Templestowe to see how the food they prepare every 3 weeks helps to feed people who are suffering from food insecurity. They completed a safety talk and tour, then set about completing volunteer work, sorting out of date fruit and vegetables that were collected from supermarkets, and preparing food packages ready for collection.

Year 11 students visited Bolton Clarke Greenview Aged Care facility, working in teams simulating a work environment to support the engagement and wellbeing of the aged care residents. They will continue to visit them on a weekly basis, but have already started to make some strong connections with the residents.

• Year 11 students completed a unit on Car Safety

   

• Year 12 students completed a Financial Literacy course to help them navigate their finances in life and in the workplace.
