Exciting News – The Crucible Cast Announced! 

After three weeks of workshops and auditions. I’m thrilled to announce that our school production for 2025 is The Crucible, and it is officially cast! We have an incredible group of 27 from students from Year 7 to 12  bringing this powerful story to life.

The Crucible is a play by Arthur Miller  exploring the hysteria of the 1692 Salem witch trials, where fear and false accusations . Arthur Miller wrote it as an allegory for McCarthyism, highlighting how paranoia and mass suspicion can destroy lives. Today, the play remains relevant, reflecting modern “witch hunts” in politics, social media, and cancel culture. It warns against the dangers of fear-driven persecution and the importance of integrity.

Performance Dates:

• August 7 & 8 – Evening Performances

  August 9 – Matinee at 12 PM

College Council Election Outcome 2025

As the number of nominating Parent Members and Student Members for College Council were equal to the number of vacancies it was not necessary to conduct a ballot for these categories.

We are pleased to announce the following nominees were endorsed as new members and continuing members on College Council at the Doncaster Secondary College Council Meeting on Wednesday, 19th March, 2025:

Parent Member: Katherine Zingiris, Ross Moll, Linda Masoni, Andrew Mishura

Student Member: Sarah Coates (Year 12), Allison Sha (Year 9)

Community Member: Vicky Paradisis (Parent), Oliver Blanchard (Student – Year 12)

2025 School Saving Bonus for Families

We are pleased to share that the Victorian Government is making life a little easier for families with the introduction of a one-off $400 School Saving Bonus. This support is designed to help cover the cost of school uniforms, textbooks, and essential school activities such as camps, excursions, and sports.

The School Saving Bonus is in addition to existing means-tested supports like the Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) and the Affordable School Uniforms Program, making it even easier for families to manage school-related costs.

All families will receive an email from the Department of Education sometime this week with details on how to access the bonus. The process will be rolled out over several days, so please keep an eye on your inbox.

The bonus will be provided to schools and families in Term 4, 2024, and we encourage you to take full advantage of this valuable support.
