Student Leadership

2024 Student Representative Council

Student Leadership Forum

Greetings DSC community,

On Tuesday the 20th August I had the opportunity of attending the Student Leadership Forum along with our College Captains at Balwyn High School. The forum focused on student leadership structures, common challenges and discussion of solutions.

I am always impressed by the maturity and collaboration of our student leaders at the college and our captains flawlessly represented our college at the forum. We look forward to continuing our partnerships with student leadership teams from similar schools as we navigate current challenges in today’s climate.

Thank you to our six captains for their input and presence at the forum and I hope this was a fantastic opportunity to connect with other student leaders.

Regards,

Jonathan Tennent

DSC TALENT SHOW

A series of promotion event posters, created by SRC

As we reach the middle of the term, the SRC is proud to present the 2024 DSC Talent Show to our school community. With over 15 acts in total including 3 teacher acts, we filled the Performance Centre and had a great time celebrating our DSC talents. We had a range of talents, from self-written songs to rockin’ guitar solos to magic tricks, it was amazing to see the DSC community come together and appreciate these talents.

Our school captains and SRC members alike worked very hard to organise and run the show, so we are thrilled that everyone enjoyed it. We were unable to fit in all the performances in one lunchtime session so we presented 'Part 2' of the DSC Talent Show on Tuesday 20th August.

Our judges made their decision and the three winners are....

  • 1st place: Caitlin T. of Year 8
  • 2nd place: Aquila J. of Year 7
  • 3rd place: Shanice L. of Year 9 and Ms Jing

Of course, we love and appreciate everyone who participated and watched the show. Don’t worry if you didn’t manage to join this year, keep a look out for the 2025 sign ups!
