Twilight School – A Wonderful Event of Learning, Celebration and Fun!

Last Thursday, our school community came together for what can only be described as one of our most outstanding Twilight School days. Students thoroughly enjoyed the novelty of starting school at 12:30pm and finishing at 7:00pm, and despite the wet and rainy weather, we recorded our highest participation rate ever! This is a wonderful reflection of the strong partnership between our school and families and the enthusiasm our community has for coming together to celebrate learning.

One of the highlights of the afternoon was our special Showcase Your School Assembly, where families had the opportunity to learn more about the rich and diverse learning experiences available to our students. Our Specialist Teachers, alongside our Specialist Student Leaders, confidently presented and showcased the exciting programs offered in Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Mandarin, Environmental Education, Physical Education and STEM. Their passion, leadership and pride in their learning were evident for all to see.

A special congratulations must go to our School Band, Junior Choir and Senior Choir, who opened the assembly with wonderful performances. Their confidence, enthusiasm and musical talent set the tone for the afternoon and evening and reminded us all of the joy that music brings to our school community.

Following the assembly, it was fantastic to see so many parents and family members remain at school to visit learning spaces and participate in their children's learning. These opportunities are invaluable in strengthening the home-school partnership, celebrating student achievement and providing families with a deeper understanding of the learning taking place every day in school. As the evening continued, students enjoyed a delicious dinner of Pizza, a Kit Kat and a fruit drink before eagerly heading to what was undoubtedly the biggest highlight of the night, the Twilight Disco! The glow in the dark accessories, lively music and energetic dance floor created an atmosphere of excitement and fun. It was wonderful to see students dancing, laughing and enjoying themselves together. I even discovered that many of our students possess some very impressive dance moves and I may have picked up a few new moves myself!

A big thank you to our staff, students and families who helped make Twilight School such a memorable success. The positive feedback from students and parents has been overwhelming, and it is clear that this event has become a much loved tradition within our school community. We are already discussing exciting ideas and possibilities for next year's Twilight School and look forward to making it even bigger and better. Thank you to everyone who contributed to such an amazing evening of learning, connection and celebration.
