Spotlight on Learning

Jerusalem Community

Dear Families,

Welcome back to the Year 1 community for Term 2. We hope all families have enjoyed a restful break.  Students have settled smoothly back into our familiar classroom routines. It has been wonderful to see their enthusiasm for learning and reconnecting with friends.

This term, we have many exciting events to look forward to, including our annual Mother’s Day Breakfast (8th of May 2026) and mid-year Parent Meetings (25th of June 2026), which provide a valuable opportunity to discuss your child’s progress and achievements. Further details will be shared closer to these dates.

This week in Religious Education students discussed Holy week. Students have engaged with information about ANZAC day by reading and writing about the book "Lest We Forget" by Kerry Brown. In reading students learnt how to use the prefix - un. Students have discussed probability by looking at the outcomes of a sided dice. Students also drew and wrote about Australian landmarks during integrated.

We look forward to a busy and rewarding term of growth, learning, and collaboration. Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

The Jerusalem teachers.
