Dear families,
Our students have returned to school for Term 2 with positive attitudes and great energy. They have immediately begun revisiting their learning routines to ensure that the classrooms are calm, safe and predictable. It is exciting to see learning happening from the first minutes of each day and through to the conclusion of the day. Every day adds to the ability of our children in terms of skill, knowledge and stamina as a learner.
Some of our children have had outstanding attendance in first term. 75 children have 100% attendance and they will receive a commendation through SIMON/PAM to celebrate this achievement.
Students should ideally miss no more than 10 days in a year. This allows for sickness and unexpected events. More absence from this begins to affect their potential to learn skills and knowledge in a sequential way. Any child misses 20 days of school in a year will have a significant impact in their learning. Please support your child to limit school absences.
The Child Safe and Wellbeing page has more information on school attendance to support you and your child.
Today we enjoyed the Cross Country competition for our Year 3-6 cohort. Children demonstrated great sportspersonship and participation. The overall winner was Red House. The table below gives the year level scores and winners.

Children with the best times in the 9-10 yo, 11yo and 12yo age brackets will move onto the district competion later in the term, on May 6th. Thank you to the many parents and caregivers who came to cheer on our students today.

Friday we will commemorate ANZAC Day with a short liturgy and service together at the front of the school.
Several Year 6 students will represent the school and lay a wreath at the Cranbourne Centaph on Saturday at 11am. There are services at 6am and 11am if families wish to attend in High Street on Saturday morning.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
