Year 5 & 6

Our Year 5/6 students have worked exceptionally hard over the last few weeks to prepare for our upcoming Production. We are so proud of all each and every one of them and are really looking forward to showcasing all of their efforts next week! Here are a couple of reflections from our students regarding the production process. 

It’s been a bit of a struggle because I’ve had to work on projecting my voice and making sure that on production night I don’t miss my scene. I have to rush because when I finish my first scene I have to get changed straight away into a different costume and I have to do it quickly. I’m feeling a bit nervous about that. I’ve enjoyed learning the Caucus Race and Finale dances.

It’s been a bit stressful trying to remember my lines but also fun because we haven’t had to do as much Math and Reading. I’m feeling a bit nervous because production is coming up very soon. Learning my lines and learning about everyone’s roles has been enjoyable. We also haven’t had to do as much homework, which is a good thing.

I really like the production. We’re doing it perfectly in terms of ‘kookieness’ and it brings out everyone’s personality. We have been able to all work together, which is great. It’s a great production as a whole. It suits our school’s personality a lot. I got the role I asked for and I think it suits me well. I’m pretty excited but also a bit nervous. I can’t wait to perform.

At the start I was a bit nervous auditioning. I wasn’t doing that great with my lines but then I learnt them and now I’m much more confident. Not doing normal learning has been a bit hard. I’m excited to perform.

I found learning all of my lines and knowing when to say them a bit hard. It was fun trying on our costumes during the dress rehearsal. I think I could get better at knowing when to say my lines and also slowing down when I speak. I feel nervous and scared about performing because I don’t want to mess up.

At the start we weren’t really getting all the lines but now we can remember them more. We have also memorised all of the songs. We can do the scenes without the scripts which is good. It’s been fun but all of the production practise has been tiring. I feel that we’ll been really successful on the night and not forget any of the lines.

It’s been really fun just putting all of the songs and scenes together. It didn’t take too long to learn my lines. I feel confident that I’ll be able to remember them on the night. I liked doing all of the production rehearsals because it’s been really fun even though we’ve been missing some of our usual learning. I feel really nervous but also excited to perform.

When it first started it was more complicated because it wasn’t planned out much but once we started rehearsing it was more structured and it become easier. I noticed that people went from nervous to comfortable to perform. The way Mrs Smith conducted the rehearsals was great. She really broke it down so we could understand and learn it. She made it much simpler. She has tried to included all of the year levels into the songs too, which is good. I feel confident that next week will be all good. I feel pretty good about performing.

It’s been very amazing. We’ve been given lots of time to practise and learn our lines. It got a bit confusing at times. When we finally learned our lines it was better because we didn’t need our script. I think most of us are getting there. Some are perfect with their lines but some still need to learn them. The process has made me feel less stressed because of all of the practise we’ve been given. I’m feeling confident, excited but a little bit nervous to perform.

It’s been fun and a good process and I’ve enjoyed it a lot. At the start it was nerve wracking because I didn't know my lines but now I know them and it’s easier. I’m really excited to perform because we’ve been working really hard. I think all of the practise has been worth it and we’ve learnt a lot. It’s been really fun and I would recommend getting involved to others.
