Year 3 & 4
Around our level
Last week was very busy in Year 3/4 as we had Hoop Time and an excursion. Please see the Principal's Message page in this newsletter for more details about Hoop Time!
Our excursion was to Karralyka Theatre to see Mooroolbark College’s performance of Mamma Mia. The students were very impressed with the acting, singing, and dancing that they saw. It was great motivation for our upcoming production. Students were encouraged to sing along, and it was amazing to see how many students knew all the words.

We finished our poetry unit last week, with students completing a final piece of writing. They were encouraged to use a variety of poetic techniques, such as line breaks, rhyming, use of similes, and interesting and specific vocabulary. The students completed a poem also as part of their homework which was fantastic.
In Maths, we have practised reading the time to 5 minute intervals, duration of time, and even discussed time zones. We revised how long a minute, an hour, and a day is, and worked out how many seconds these were. At times, we could use a calculator to help us with these large numbers.

Students are nominated by their teachers to receive a certificate of acknowledgment. The below students' certificates will be presented at our next assembly.
3/4B - Mrs Pfander & Mr Smith
