Parent/Carer Opinion Survey

Our school is conducting the annual Parent / Carer Opinion Survey and is seeking your feedback. The survey, offered by the Department of Education, is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement.

We emailed you an invitation to complete the survey. If you cannot find the invite, please reach out and we can resend this invitation to you.

The Parent / Carer Opinion Survey will remain open online until Friday 18th September 2026.

Your opinions are important to us and will contribute to identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, and to then target school planning and improvement strategies. The Department will use the results from the survey for research purposes and to improve outcomes for students.

The survey is being conducted online and takes approximately 20 minutes to complete.

If you require assistance in completing the survey, please reach out to the school.

Alice in Wonderland Production

Our Alice in Wonderland production is almost here! Next Monday and Tuesday, our students will take to the stage to share what they have been working so hard to create.

Our students, staff, and wonderful volunteers have put in an incredible amount of time, energy, and enthusiasm to bring this production together, and we are so excited for everyone to see the final performance.

We know it is going to be a fantastic couple of nights and we can't wait to see our students shine!

If you would still like to purchase tickets, please click the button below.

Curriculum Day / Phone Interruption

A reminder that Wednesday 26th August is a Curriculum Day, so students will not attend school on this day.

While staff are undertaking professional learning, we will also be completing an upgrade to our school phone and internet systems. As a result, our usual phone lines may be unavailable during the day.

If you need to contact the school on Wednesday, please call 0459 815 259.

We appreciate your patience while this important work is completed and our new systems are put in place.

Hoop Time

On Monday 10th August, half of our Year 3/4 students travelled to Kilsyth Basketball Stadium to take part in the Hoop Time basketball competition. The students were very excited to represent YRPS in the competition. We entered teams in the All Star Girls and All Star Boys division, and a Future Stars team. All students tried their very best, and showed great sportsmanship throughout the day. Special mention to the All Star Girls team, as they made it to the grand final, unfortunately losing by just a couple of points. Thank you very much to our coaches and team managers: Cam, Kelly, Bec, Amber, Macarena, and Drew, and also to the parents who jumped in and scored when needed. Well done Yarra Road!

Our Year 5/6 students participated in Hoop Time on Friday 14th of August at Kilsyth Basketball Stadium. We had teams competing in the All Star Girls, All Star Boys and two Future Stars competitions. Our All Star Girls and two Future Stars teams played extremely well, demonstrating great teamwork, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship. The All Star Boys had an outstanding day, battling their way through to the grand final and finishing the day as champions! Their team effort and determination saw them secure the win and earn a well-deserved place in the next round of the competition. A very big thank you to our coaches and team managers: Andy, Erin, Troy, Michelle, Jarrod, Chantelle, and Leah, and also to the parents who jumped in and scored when needed.
