🎸 Inter-School Battle of the Bands
Well done to ROOM2 and ABC who recently participated in the inter-school Battle of the Bands competition at Boronia K–12. A total of 12 bands performed, with ABC winning Best Overall Band! 👏
ROOM2 also received an honourable mention for their resilience and professionalism after pushing through some unexpected audio difficulties. A fantastic effort from both groups!
🎤 Assembly Performances
Congratulations and thank you to Ari Cooper and Ben Seymour for their beautiful duet, as well as ROOM2 for their performance at the Year 8 and 9 assemblies during Weeks 6 and 7.
🎶 September Soirée
On Thursday 4 September, family and friends were treated to a wonderful showcase of music at our annual September Soirée. 🎹🎻
Students from across all year levels performed a variety of solos, duets, and small ensemble pieces, delighting the audience with their talent and passion.
The Soirée provides a special opportunity for our musicians to share their acoustic skills in an intimate setting! 🎵✨
A big thank you to everyone involved, especially our fabulous Instrumental Music staff for their guidance and support. 👏

🎺 NEVR Rookie Band Workshop
Each year, the region facilitates the Rookie Band Workshop, where beginning band students from schools across the area come together for workshops, a performance, and a recording session. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to build skills, confidence, and experience in performance.
This year’s workshop will take place at Fairhills High School on Wednesday 22 October. Each school has a limit of 15 students, so places are first come, first served. Lilydale High has a strong tradition of involvement in this event, and we look forward to seeing many of our new students representing the school.
👉 Registrations (for Rookie Band members only) can be made via this link: TryBooking Registration.
