BOOK WEEK 2025!

π Book Week Celebrations at LHS π
What an unforgettable Book Week at LHS! Throughout the week, students and staff came together to celebrate the joy of reading with author talks, competitions, creative activities, and dress-ups - all while raising an incredible $574.30 for Reading Out of Poverty π.
We were thrilled to host two inspiring author talks. Acclaimed Young Adult author Shivaun Plozza shared her writing journey and insights into the publishing industry, while our very own Daniel Quick spoke about self-publishing, creativity, and overcoming imposter syndrome. Both sessions gave students a fascinating glimpse into the world of storytelling and the art of writing πβ¨βοΈ .
The Library was buzzing with excitement during our Book Trivia Challenge! Β Congratulations to Team Lengellys, our champions π, and a shout-out to the runners-up for impressing us with their book knowledge and quick thinking. π§ π
Fridayβs festivities were a highlight! The Sausage Sizzle and Bake Sale ππͺ drew a hungry crowd and raised funds for a great cause. Students also enjoyed a fun Adventure Scavenger Hunt π΅οΈββοΈπΊοΈ and showcased their creativity in the Bookmark Competition π¨π.
And of course β Book Week Costume Day was a showstopper! From superheroes π¦ΈββοΈπ¦ΈββοΈ and wizards π§ββοΈ to classic literary characters π, students and staff lit up the school with colour, creativity, and a shared love of stories πβ¨.
A special thank you to everyone who baked, dressed up, participated, and supported our events β and to Woolworths Chirnside Park for their generous donation of sausages, bread, and drinks ππ. Together, we celebrated reading with community, creativity, and plenty of fun π.
We were also blown away by the incredible talent on display in this yearβs Bookmark Competition ποΈπ . Every entry showed amazing creativity, effort, and imagination. A huge congratulations to our winners: Mason, Leila, Millie, Tyler, Heidi, Dylan, Sigourney, Willow, Nate, and Zoe ππ¨. Your artwork will inspire readers every time they open a book!
Well done to everyone involved β Book Week 2025 was truly a celebration of reading, creativity, and community spirit β€οΈπβ¨!
