Music @ MMCRC

Over the past two weeks, our Music Department has proudly competed in the Yarram Eisteddfod, with our students achieving some fantastic results and representing our school with pride.

Our students and staff have travelled well over 1,000 kilometers to and from Yarram in the past 10 days. During this time, 10 vocal students competed across two evenings of vocal solos, three Rock Bands took to the stage, and two Guitar Ensembles proudly represented our school.

Our students have had a wonderful experience and have consistently presented themselves with confidence, precision and pride. I have been incredibly impressed by the commitment, preparation and effort they have shown throughout the Eisteddfod. They have represented themselves and our school exceptionally well, both through their musical talent and their outstanding behaviour.

Huge congratulations to all our students who participated. Your hard work, dedication and enthusiasm have made us incredibly proud. A massive thank you to instrumental tutors Phil Schuhmann and Meg Doherty for preparing and assisting the students in this competition.

A big congratulations goes to the Guitar Ensemble and Mr Schuhmann as they were awarded the "Most Outstanding Performance" of the entire eisteddfod at the awards dinner where Clara Western received the massive cup trophy. The adjudicator loved Mr Schuhmann’s arrangement of “Summer" by Vivaldi and the Black Sabbath Medley for electric guitar ensemble. Well done!!

Please remember that Arts Amplified – our Arts and Technology Showcase – is happening next Thursday, 27 August, from 6:00 pm at the College!

Join us for an evening celebrating the incredible creativity and talent of our students across the Arts and Technology departments.

Enjoy live musical performances, drama monologues, and explore our student Art Show, and sample some of the wonderful food and coffee prepared by our Technology students.

It promises to be a fantastic evening showcasing the hard work, creativity and passion of our students.

We would love to see you there! Please come along, bring your family and friends, and support our wonderful Arts and Technology departments and the talented students who make this event possible.
