Regional Soccer 

On Monday 17 August, our Intermediate Boys and Girls Soccer teams took to the field for Regional Soccer, representing MMCRC against some strong competition from across the region.

The boys travelled to Warragul and got off to a brilliant start, securing wins in their first two matches. They battled hard in their final game but unfortunately went down, finishing second overall and narrowly missing out on advancing to the State Championships.

The girls travelled to Morwell, where they put together some great passages of play across their three matches. They came away with one win and two losses, competing strongly throughout the day against quality opposition.

A fantastic effort from both teams and a great achievement to reach the regional level. Well done to all students who represented the College!

Year 8 Basketball 

On Tuesday 18 August, our Year 8 Boys and Girls Basketball teams headed to Wonthaggi for a big day of Division Basketball.

The boys delivered a fantastic performance, with exciting, closely contested games throughout the pool rounds. After the round-robin games, three teams were tied for first place, setting up a thrilling three-way playoff to decide the winner. The boys gave it everything but narrowly missed out on progressing, finishing a very impressive third overall.

The girls also had a great day on court, competing strongly in every game and coming away with a mix of wins and losses. Their determination and effort across the day earned them a third-place finish overall.

A great result for both teams, with plenty of close games and exciting basketball throughout the day. Congratulations to all students who represented the College!
