Celebrating the People and Opportunities at MMCRC.
In each newsletter, I like to take the opportunity to highlight and celebrate the many exciting events, opportunities and learning experiences happening across our College. However, so much of what we are able to provide simply would not be possible without the hard work and support of our Education Support and non-teaching staff. The work they do each day supports not only our students, but also our teachers and the wider College community. So much happens behind the scenes to help our teachers do what they do best and to ensure our students can access the many opportunities available to them. Their care, flexibility, organisation and willingness to help are greatly appreciated. I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all of our non-teaching staff for everything they do and the important contribution they make to MMCRC each and every day.
The past couple of weeks have once again been a great example of just how much is happening across MMCRC. Students continued to represent the College at the Yarram Eisteddfod, with both our choir and guitar students performing wonderfully — and it was great to see a few more trophies make their way back to MMCRC! Our Year 11 students enjoyed their three-day retreat, while our Year 12 student leaders travelled to Warragul to reflect on their leadership alongside Bishop Greg and students from other schools across the Diocese. Year 9 students completed their Morrisby interviews, while students across the College have also been busy finalising their subject selections for 2027.
Our Year 12 Sport and Recreation students have been visiting St Laurence’s Primary School to run Fundamental Motor Skills clinics with Grade 1 and 2 students, providing a fantastic opportunity to put their learning into practice. We have also celebrated Science Week across the College, while our Year 7 and 8 basketball teams and Year 9 and 10 soccer teams represented MMCRC at SSV competitions. A big thank you to all of the students and staff who have supported and participated in these opportunities. It is wonderful to see our students getting involved, embracing new experiences and representing MMCRC with pride.
