Student Wellbeing and Inclusion

Our students across the MLC and SLC at both Springvale Rise Primary School campuses recently took part in the Carlton Respects: Road to Respect program.

Road to Respect is a Carlton Football Club education program for students in Grades 3–6, designed to build the knowledge and skills young people need to develop positive, respectful and healthy relationships. The program aligns with the Victorian Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships (RRRR) curriculum and explores important topics including managing emotions, help-seeking, being an upstander, challenging harmful stereotypes, values and respectful communication.

During the session, our students watched messages featuring Carlton AFL and AFLW players, participated in interactive group activities and engaged in classroom discussions facilitated by trained Road to Respect facilitators. These activities encouraged students to think about what respect looks like in their everyday relationships, how they can respond when something doesn't feel right, and how they can be an upstander for themselves and others.
