Student Voice - Springvale Campus

Welcome to Week 8, Term 3! It is hard to believe how quickly the year is going, with only a few weeks left until the end of the school year. We have had such an amazing year so far, and there are still plenty of exciting events and activities to look forward to! One of these is our SLC excursion in Week 10 to ACMI and the Old Treasury Building, where we will step back in time and learn about the Gold Rush and its impact on Australia.

One of the highlights of Term 3 was, of course, Book Week! This year, we celebrated the theme “Symphony of Stories” by dressing up as our favourite characters and sharing what made these characters special. The Book Week parade was sensational as always. The parade began with the SLC, followed by the MLC, JLC and FLC. It was wonderful to see everyone proudly showing off their costumes!

We would like to congratulate all of our Best Costume winners, as well as everyone who participated and put so much time and effort into their costumes. You all helped make Book Week such a memorable celebration!

Winner from FLC: Umar – Ninjago Master Wu LEGO Costume

Winner from JLC: Syahir – Astronaut Costume

Winner from MLC: Humairah – Nezuko Costume

Winner from SLC: Jani – Paddington Bear Costume

Congratulations to all our winners! We were so impressed by the creativity and effort that went into everyone’s costumes.

Our P.E. lessons have also been a highlight over the past few weeks! Throughout Weeks 8 to 10, the SLC has had the opportunity to welcome a special visitor, who has been teaching us some important volleyball skills. Each week, we have been learning and practising skills such as setting, bumping and spiking. It has been fantastic to see everyone building their skills, collaborating as a team and becoming more confident with each session. We can’t wait to see how much more we improve by the end of the workshops!

Before we sign off, we would like to give a friendly reminder to bring your school hat every day. Wearing a hat is super important because it helps protect us from the sun’s harmful UV rays, especially when we are outside playing with our friends. Remember, “No hat, no play!” So make sure you pack your hat each morning and stay sun safe!
