Highlights from Heights
It has been a wonderful and busy few weeks at the Heights Campus, with our students embracing a range of exciting learning experiences and special events.
Our students have enjoyed two fantastic weeks of swimming, developing important skills and knowledge to help them stay safe in and around water. They have been learning and practising swimming strokes, floating and water safety skills, while also having lots of fun with their friends. The program finished with a special ‘Fun Day’, where students enjoyed pool toys, an inflatable obstacle course and a variety of water games. A huge thank you to our families for supporting your child/ren to participate in this important and worthwhile program.
Our much-loved Father’s Day/Special Persons Stall was another highlight, giving students the opportunity to do some special shopping and choose a gift for someone important in their lives. It was wonderful to see the excitement as students carefully looked through the range of gifts and selected something they thought their special person would love.
Our Foundation Learning Centre also celebrated their Dads or Special Person with a morning at school. Students enjoyed a range of classroom activities, outdoor games and the opportunity to present their special person with a beautiful gift they had created in the Art Room.
We finished the week with our infamous Book Parade, which is always one of the biggest highlights of our school year! Students have been immersed in books as they selected their favourite characters and enjoyed creating different parts of their costumes through arts and crafts.
There were so many wonderful books to inspire our students this year, including Inked by Karen Wasson and Jake A. Minton (7–12 years) and The Emperor’s Egg by Rae Tan (0–6 years). It was fantastic to see our students proudly parading in such a wonderful variety of costumes and celebrating their love of reading. We hope the Book Parade has inspired our students to continue exploring the wonderful world of books and enjoying lots of reading at home throughout Book Week and beyond!
Finally, a reminder that now that Spring is upon us and the sun is out more, all students should be wearing a school hat. These can be purchased from the uniform shop at Noble Park. If students don’t have a hat they need to stay under the shade sails. No Hat, No Play!
Happy Father’s and Fatherly Figures Day for Sunday and I hope everyone has a wonderful last 2 weeks of Term 3.
