A Symphony of Stories – Celebrating Book Week

What a wonderful celebration of reading and storytelling we have had during this year’s Book Week, Symphony of Stories, celebration! From the moment our students arrived at school, it was clear just how much excitement and enthusiasm our community has for books, stories and the joy of reading.

We were incredibly impressed by the commitment and creativity shown by our students and families. The effort that went into costumes was truly remarkable, with our school grounds transformed into a colourful celebration of much-loved characters and stories. It was wonderful to see students proudly sharing their costumes with their friends and teachers, and even more special to see the involvement of families in helping bring the theme to life. Thank you to all of our families for supporting this special event and encouraging a love of reading at home and at school.

Book Week provides such a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the power of stories to inspire, connect and spark imagination. Seeing our students so engaged reminds us of the important role that books and reading play in developing not only literacy skills, but also curiosity, empathy and a lifelong love of learning.

We are incredibly proud of the dedication of our staff, students and families in making Book Week such a memorable celebration. Together, we continue to build a strong culture of reading and learning across our school community — one story at a time.

We have also been fortunate to continue strengthening our teaching practice through professional learning. Our JLC and FLC teachers had the valuable opportunity to work alongside Rachel Buck (Phonics Consultant) to further develop their knowledge and capacity in delivering an effective phonics programs. This professional learning has provided our teachers with opportunities to reflect on their current practice, deepen their understanding of phonics instruction and consider how we can continue to provide highly effective literacy learning experiences for all of our students.
