Secondary Campaspe Tennis
Years 7 and 8
On 16th March, our Years 7 and 8 boys and girls participated in a tennis competition against other schools in our local area. It was a fantastic day of sport, with students demonstrating great enthusiasm, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the matches.
Across the day, students competed in a series of 40 minute doubles matches, showing determination and resilience in each game. With matches being self umpired, students showed a high level of integrity, fairness and responsibility in making their own calls.
Students also supported one another throughout the day, maintaining a positive attitude regardless of the results.
Overall, it was a successful and enjoyable day.
Years 9-12
On 16th March, students from Years 9-12 made their way to Tongala tennis courts for the Campaspe Division tournament. The Years 9/10 boys team made up of Jonty S, Riley N, Kade S and Charlie P played some solid tennis, but found the draw to be quite tough, winning one of their three matches.
The 9/10 girls team, however, were battling it out for top of the group. Mackenzie D, Ruby M, Lily M and Tayla S played some fantastic tennis and swept through the competition until they met a strong St Josephs team in what turned out to be the ‘grand final’. Both matches went on for a long time, with both teams playing some great tennis, but, unfortunately we lost some important points in the closing stages and the result didn’t go our way.
The Years 11/12 boys team of Issac G, Wil H, Hugh C and Luke M had mixed results but enjoyed themselves out on court.
The story of the day went to the famous Years 11/12 girls team made up of Miley M, Penny M, Shylee D and Mia S. They continued their recent dominance in local tennis, winning all of their matches and making it through to the next stage for the third straight year. It was a great day out and the students represented the College in a great manner. Well done to all involved.
Years 7-12 Campaspe Netball
A warm and sunny day greeted our girls who competed in the Years 7-12 Campaspe Netball tournament at the Northern Oval on 23rd March. We fielded four strong teams and they were keen to put in their best efforts for the school. The action was fierce on the court with a number of highly competitive games taking place.
As the day concluded, our Year 7 team finished in 3rd place with the Year 8 Girls tied in 1st place on games won, but 3rd overall on percentage. Our Years 9/10 and 11/12 teams managed to finish the day in 2nd and 3rd place respectively as well.
Well done to all of our players, coaches and umpires throughout the day.
Years 3-6 Cross Country
Last Friday, the Years 3-6 students had the opportunity to participate in our College Cross-Country with the opportunity to qualify for the Campaspe Division Cross Country in Echuca.
All Years 3-6 students gave the day a go, with some surprising themselves with their efforts! It was fantastic seeing students challenge themselves and provide encouragement to other students who needed it. The level of respect and sportsmanship demonstrated by all students was phenomenal.
Students also earned house points for their participation. At the end of the day, Augustine scored the most with 668 points.
