From the Principal

Dear Parents, Carers and Members of the St Augustine’s College Community,
As we settle into Term 2, I want to begin by acknowledging the incredible energy and commitment displayed by our staff and students during what is shaping up to be a vibrant and busy term.
A highlight so far was our day of professional learning with Dr Jared Cooney Horvath, Dr Nathaniel Swain and Teach Well, focusing on the Science of Learning in line with Magnify. These sessions have provided our staff with powerful insights into how students learn best and how we can continue to align our teaching practices with the latest research in cognitive science. The conversations sparked have been invaluable and will continue to shape our pedagogy going forward.
This week, we were thrilled to welcome a huge number of new and prospective families to our College Open Day and Information Evening on Wednesday 29th April. The attendance was outstanding and it was a wonderful opportunity to showcase everything our College has to offer. Early indications point to strong enrolments in both Foundation and Year 7 for 2027, as well as other year levels, and we very much look forward to welcoming our new families into our community.
Next week marks Catholic Education Week - a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and reflect on the richness of Catholic schooling and the values that underpin everything we do here at our College. We look forward to sharing more about how we will be marking this special week as it approaches.
Also coming up next week, on Thursday 7th May, we will be hosting our Annual Mother's Day Breakfast with our Mother's Day Stall to be held on Friday 8th May. These community events are a wonderful way to engage our families and invite people into our school. We look forward to celebrating with you!
Term 2 is always a dynamic time on the school calendar and there is plenty still to come. Our Year 12 students are attending the VCE & Careers Expo today, Friday 1st May, and upcoming highlights include Subject Teacher Conversations — a Student Free Day on Tuesday 12th May — as well as Year 9 Camp Jungai, Reconciliation Week Mass, the Senior School Information Night, Year 10 Urban Camp and much more through to our last day of Term 2 on Friday 26th June. Please keep an eye on our social media and Consent2Go for notices and further details on all upcoming events.
Finally, I extend my sincere thanks to our staff, families and students for their continued support and engagement as we navigate another exciting term together. To all the wonderful Mums and Grandmothers who love and support us - we hope you have a truly special Mother's Day next Sunday!
Warm regards,
Tim Campbell
Principal
