We had a fantastic day at our Athletics Carnival this year, with a great atmosphere from start to finish. Students either competed in their events or proudly cheered on their peers, helping to create a positive and supportive environment across the day.

The competition between Houses was strong, with students giving their best effort in every event. It was also great to see students showing excellent school spirit beyond the track and field, including picking up rubbish around the grounds and helping to keep the venue clean throughout the day.

A special mention goes to Zoe from 9A, who went above and beyond for her House, Barty. Zoe competed in as many events as possible, even managing overlapping events by quickly moving from one to the next, while also assisting with other House duties to maximise her contribution. Her outstanding effort played a key role in Barty’s success on the day.

The final scores were:

Congratulations to the winning house, Barty, and all students who participated and contributed to a successful and spirited Athletics Carnival.

Our Cross Country event was held on Wednesday 29 April for Years 7–9 and Thursday 30 April for Years 10–12.

For Years 7–9, participation was compulsory, with each year level competing during a different period throughout the day. Students showed great effort and determination as they completed the course.

For Years 10–12, the event was optional, and it was fantastic to see so many students choose to get involved. There was a great atmosphere at the finish line, with students cheering on their peers as they completed the course.

The results are currently being tallied and will be shared in next month’s newsletter.

Well done to all students who participated and contributed to a successful Cross Country event.

A special thank you goes to Ms Morrow, our Sports Coordinator, for her excellent organisation and leadership across the Cross Country, Athletics Carnival, and all Interschool Sport programs. Her hard work and attention to detail help ensure these events run smoothly and provide great opportunities for our students.

A great start to Term 2 in Interschool Sport

Term 2 has only just begun, and it has already been a busy and exciting start for our Interschool Sport teams. Over the past week, many students have represented the College in Intermediate Girls Netball, Intermediate Boys AFL, Senior Girls Netball, Senior Boys AFL and Regional Senior Volleyball.

Across all competitions, our teams played with great teamwork and determination. Many matches were closely contested, with students managing to secure wins throughout their fixtures, even if they did not come away with overall victories in their competitions. Each team continued to compete strongly right to the final whistle, showing resilience and commitment in every game.

Our Senior Volleyball team were also particularly recognised on the day for their outstanding attitude and effort. Well done to all players for the way they represented the College and supported one another throughout the competition.

It has been fantastic to see our students consistently display pride in representing the College, while developing their skills and teamwork in a competitive environment. Well done to all students involved for a strong start to the term in Interschool Sport.
