Detox Your Home Torquay

 Upcoming Detox Your Home Torquay event, which provides local residents with a free and convenient way to dispose of unwanted household chemicals safely. The event will be held on Saturday 22 August, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Torquay Works Depot. Bookings are essential.

The event accepts a wide range of household chemicals such as cleaning products, pesticides, herbicides, fuels, brake fluids, pool chemicals, and other hazardous items that should not be placed in household bins or poured down drains.

We would love your support in:

• Sharing the event with families through newsletters, social media, staff communications, and school apps.

   

• Encouraging members of your school community to take the opportunity to clean out sheds, garages, storerooms, and cupboards.

   

• Reviewing any unwanted or expired household quantities of chemicals that your school may be able to dispose of appropriately through this initiative.

   

This is a great opportunity for our schools and communities to take practical action for the environment by preventing harmful chemicals from entering landfill and waterways.
