大 家 好 (Hello Everyone)! dà jiā hǎo
This week we are highlighting the amazing work of our lower years. Foundations, Year Ones and Year Twos have all been working amazingly in learning numbers and animals, developing their language skills through games and interactive activities.
Foundations have continued focusing on numbers 1-10 in Chinese. Students have used their number knowledge to read dice, play race to 100 and explore a unifix snap activity where they counted unifix blocks and matched the number to its Chinese counterpart. This week they will use their number knowledge to count animals and their legs.
Year Ones have also been revising their number knowledge of Chinese numbers 1-100. Students have used their number knowledge to play race to 100, reading out the numbers as they land on them. Students have also used their number knowledge to count minibeast legs and total the number. We can’t wait to see how they continue to apply their number knowledge in the coming weeks as they start designing their own minibeast.
Year Twos have continued learning about Giant Pandas, their features, habitat, and eating habits. Students will use their knowledge of Giant Pandas alongside learnt sentence starters to begin creating their own non fiction book.
