Dear Parents and Caregivers

Celebrating all that is St Helena's

We celebrated a wonderful St Helena's Feast Day with the celebration of Mass with Fr Bona on  Tuesday 18 August,  as well as participating in Buddy activities and our famous St Helena's stalls. A huge thank you to all the staff who coordinated and assisted on the day, and to the parents who donated towards the stalls. The students and staff had a wonderful day, celebrating all that is St Helena's!

Our Choir was fantastic at the Performing Arts Festival last week. They also had an amazing time at the One Big Voice at the RAC Arena last Friday evening. Well done to our talented and entertaining group of singers! I know that they will have fond memories of these opportunities for years to come. A huge thank you to Miss Charlotte Lock for her efforts in preparing the choir for these performances. There have been many hours of practice throughout the year, after school as well! Thank you also to Mr Mark McCormack, our very talented pianist who accompanied the Choir for the Performing Arts performance and to Miss Melissa Myles for her assistance at One Big Voice. A huge thank you to our Choir parents too, for without your commitment to pick ups later on a Wednesday afternoon, or from the RAC Arena on Friday evening, our students would not have been involved. I am sure they are grateful for your commitment too!

Please take the time to read through the eNewsletter and check out all the learning experiences that have been taking place both in school and as extra-curricular activities. There is lots coming up too! Check out the School Notices section. A huge and sincere thank you to our amazing staff who without their support and enthusiasm to partake in some of these activies, some of the things we do, would not be possible. I know our students and parents/caregivers are appreciative and grateful for all that our staff do in and beyond the classroom too!

Deputy Premier Rita Saffioti Visits St Helena's

It was great to have the Deputy Premier Hon Rita Saffioti MLA drop by for a visit, taking the time to visit a couple of classrooms, view our new verandahs, and even have a play on our newly refurbished basketball courts. A big thank you once again to the Cook Labor Government for the grant that was an election commitment to St Helena's in 2025. Through the support of Minister for Education, Hon Sabine Winton MLA, and the advocacy of Deputy Premier, Hon Rita Saffioti MLA, we have been able to deliver our refurbished basketball courts, new verandahs, and a new Kindergarten shade sail for our students to enjoy. We are grateful for this investment in our school community and the positive impact these improvements will have for years to come.

Book Week 2026

Looking forward to seeing all the Book characters rocking up to St Helena's on Friday. Our Book Week parade and dress up day is set for Friday 28 August with our parade on the astro turf from 8:30am. Looking forward to the up and coming Book Fair too!

Father's Day Breakfast and Liturgy

We are very excited for our Father's Day Breakfast and Liturgy coming up on Friday 4 September from 7:30am. All our fathers and father figures are welcome to come along. Hope to see you all there!

Learning Journey 

It would be wonderful to see all our families make the effort to attend our Learning Journey on Tuesday 8 September between 4:00pm and 6:00pm at St Helena's Catholic Primary School. Come along and have a look at what is happening in your child/ren's classroom and specialist classes. Come and enjoy the Book Fair set up in the Library, the Art Exhibition in the Music Room, admiring the student's creative visual arts talents. We also have ExACT student's projects in the Kooditj room and our Choir and Liturgical Dance performances on during the afternoon to celebrate the many talents we have at St Helena's Catholic Primary School.
