Spotlight on Learning
Dear Families,
Thank you to all our families and special visitors who joined us for our Father’s Day celebrations. It was wonderful to welcome you and share this special occasion with our students. We wish a very Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers, grandfathers and other special people who step into this important role. We hope you have a wonderful day celebrating with your loved ones.

Religious Education:
Next week in Religious Education, students will explore the importance of passing on traditions within the Catholic faith. They will investigate a Catholic tradition and its history, identify significant symbols connected to the tradition, and find and explain a Bible reading that reflects its meaning and importance.
English:
Next week in English, students will continue reading The Grandest Bookshop in the World while exploring narrative structure and story elements. They will examine how authors combine historical and magical elements to create engaging stories, before planning and writing their own narratives using these features.
Mathematics:
Next week in Mathematics, students will be learning to measure the interior angles of polygons. They will use appropriate tools and strategies to accurately measure and identify angles within a variety of polygons.
Integrated Curriculum:
In Week 9 for Integrated Studies, students will explore the purpose and meaning of drama from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. They will develop their cultural understanding and consider how this knowledge can be respectfully incorporated into their puppet performances.
Auslan:
Next week in Auslan, students will explore how Deaf people around the world use signed languages to communicate about the people, experiences and things that are important to them. Year 5 students will also identify and discuss similarities and differences between their own families and Deaf families.
Social & Emotional Learning:
Next week in Social and Emotional Learning, students will be recognising R U OK? Day and learning how to notice when someone may need support. They will explore different ways to check in with others and practise asking “R U OK?” in a caring and respectful way.

Fidget Toys
We kindly ask that students do not bring fidget toys to school unless their use is a planned adjustment in consultation with Allied Health Professionals. Students who bring fidget toys without an approved adjustment will be asked to place them in their school bag for the remainder of the day to take home. We appreciate your support in encouraging your child to leave fidget toys at home.
Please ensure that you are labelling all your child's belongings.
