Performing Arts

Wow what a term we have had! 

Preps have settled in well to the routine of Performing Arts. A highlight has been having fun performing short plays such as Goldilocks And The Three Bears. 

The grade one’s have begun learning rhythm patterns, singing new songs and playing the matching rhythms on various instruments. This week we played a musical game of snakes and ladders. 

In grade two, students built upon their knowledge of rhythm patterns and worked on creating their own compositions of music to play to others. This week we practiced the rhythm patterns through games of stepping stones and four corners. 

Next term is bound to be another busy one with all grades beginning work on the production. Each grade will learn about the scene and song they are performing to.

In other news the cast members were announced on Wednesday for The Lion King.

Congratulations to the lucky few. There was such as amazing turn out of students from grades 3-6 auditioning for various roles. They are all to be commended on their efforts. Rehearsals will begin next term. There is also an opportunity for students in grade 3-6 to be involved in the art crew, backstage helpers and music people.
