We've been shortlisted for the FUSE Awards!
Silverton Primary School is excited to announce that our school has been shortlisted for 'Best School Esports Training Program' for the FUSE Cup 2026 Australian School Esports Awards Evening! Furthermore, our very own Mr Tang has been shortlisted for 3 individual categories: 'Community Impact through Esports', 'Most Inspirational Esports Teacher' and 'Esports Coach of the Year'!
Since 2020, we have strived to build an inclusive esports program that embeds our school values of resilience, respect, gratitude, curiosity and empathy while also incorporating the FUSE Cup values of integrity, strength, inclusion and teamwork! Over the years, we've collaborated with Alannah & Madeline Foundation eSmart team to deliver an engaging digital wellbeing program and GameAware to teach young kids about healthy gaming habits all while training competitively in games such as: Mario Kart, Just Dance and Rocket League.
Not only are our students being equipped with the necessary tools to have fun while staying safe online, they're developing their interpersonal skills by running lunch time clubs, helping with setting up and packing up the Nintendo Switch, teaching junior kids how to play, making announcements during assembly about tournament results, running try-out sessions to recruit new members for the next year and mentoring each other when training!
These nominations acknowledge our efforts and motivate us to continue delivering an effective esports program at Silverton Primary School for many years to come!
