Young Entrepreneurs in the Making!

There is lots of excitement in Learning Centre 4 as our Year 5/6 students begin preparing for Market Day! We have already spotted some very eager entrepreneurs-in-the-making as students shared their ideas and questions during our first Economics lessons. There are certainly some future business owners among us!

This term, students will take part in weekly Economics sessions to build their knowledge and skills and help them prepare for their very own Market Day businesses. We will explore topics such as needs and wants, products and services, how businesses work, market research and surveys, costs, profit and loss, pitching ideas and advertising.

The students will use what they learn to help them make important decisions about their businesses. They will need to think carefully about what people might want to buy, how much their products will cost, how they can make a profit and how they can attract customers.

Over the next week, students will begin forming their business groups and developing their ideas. We have already heard some fantastic ideas floating around our Learning Centre, and we can't wait to see which ones become real businesses!

Our students are already showing lots of creativity, enthusiasm and business thinking, and we are excited to see where their ideas take them.

More information about Market Day will be shared with families soon. We are very excited to see our students’ creative ideas come to life and watch our young entrepreneurs in action!
