Message from our Principal
Mr Mark Pollard
Dear Silverton families,
I’d like to start my newsletter by congratulating our Foundation students on their 100 days of school. The children and staff celebrated the 100 day milestone earlier this Term by dressing like older people. A big thank you to all of the staff for their efforts in making the day a special one. See the Foundation News page for photos.
Congratulations to all students on their efforts during Student Led Conferences. It’s always a special day, giving the students an opportunity to present and celebrate their learning. Thank you to all staff for their efforts and thank you to our parents/carers for attending and supporting the children.
Staff recently enjoyed our second day of professional learning with Bron Ryrie Jones, focusing on Responsive Teaching. We are excited to continue working on implementing the strategies learnt through this valuable learning experience.
Last week we held our Junior Athletics on Monday and Senior Athletics on Thursday. Both days ran extremely well and I wanted to say a big thank you to Mrs Kittle for her organisation of both days, and to all other staff who helped out. A big congratulations to all students for the way they competed on their day. Thanks to everyone who came along to support. Winners will be announced at assembly on Monday.
F-2 Swimming has been running everyday this week. Well done to our little people for their efforts so far. A big thanks for all of the staff involved.
Today we have our State School Spectacular Choir students spending the day in the city rehearsing for the big event. Thank you to Mrs Wallis and Miss Penelope for taking them along.

We also have some of our student leaders attending Children’s Advisory in Dandenong. Thank you to Christine for taking them along.
Our next 2027 Foundation Transition session is our Teddy Bear Picnic afternoon which will be held on Thursday 22nd Oct. If you know anyone who is due to start school in 2027, please encourage them to make contact with Admin to book a school tour or to come along to the Teddy Bear Picnic.
Our Parents Association have some events planned for the end of this term, including Fathers Day breakfast. Please see their page for full details to volunteer and to RSVP.
Thank you for your ongoing support,
Mark Pollard – Principal
