Story Dogs - Book Week
Be Kind

Be an Active Learner

We’re excited to be celebrating Book Week in Week 7 (24th–28th August)!
As part of the celebrations, we will be holding a Book Swap to support the Story Dogs Program, which is offered at our school for some of our Grade 2 students. Each week, three volunteer dog handlers and their dogs visit to read with selected children, helping to build their confidence and reading skills in a fun and supportive way.
To support this wonderful program, we’re inviting families to donate one or two gently used books in excellent condition. Donations will be accepted from next week, and during Book Week, students will be able to attend the Book Swap and purchase a pre-loved book for a gold coin donation.
All proceeds will go directly to Story Dogs, helping them continue their valuable work in schools across Australia. You can learn more about the program here: https://www.storydogs.org.au
A plastic tub will be placed at the front office starting Monday for book donations. Please ensure all books are in great condition—no tears, scribbles, or missing pages.
Thank you for supporting our school and for helping to promote a love of reading across our community. Have fun choosing which book to donate!
Warm regards,
Penny Carr
