Sam and I would like to extend a huge thank you to our wonderful students, staff and families for making Principals’ Day so special. Thank you, families, for the beautiful plant, generous book voucher, and the many thoughtful messages we received.
We feel incredibly fortunate to be part of such a caring and supportive school community. Thank you for making us feel so valued, appreciated and celebrated.
Parents and Carers, if you know that your child will not be attending SMPPS next year, could you please email us at south.melbourne.park.ps@education.vic.gov.au with the subject ‘2027’. This information will help us greatly with workforce planning.
Last week, offers for Prep 2027 were sent to families. If you submitted an application, please check your email and accept or decline the offer as soon as possible.
If you have not yet enrolled your child for Prep 2027, I encourage you to do so promptly to ensure you receive all information regarding our orientation program.
Enrolments are completed online through the VicStudents portal. Additional information, including step-by-step enrolment instructions, can be found in our enrolment information pack.
A reminder to save the date for this year’s Whole School Performance on Thursday 10 September and Friday 11 September.
We understand that many families will want a photographic memento of this special event, while also recognising the importance of adhering to our photo permission requirements. To ensure we respect the wishes of all families, teachers only will take photographs of students whose parents/carers have provided consent via Compass during the full-dress rehearsal and backstage on the performance nights. This approach allows us to carefully manage photography and ensure that only students with the appropriate permissions are included in photos.
Today, I sent a photo permission request to families who have not yet provided consent. If you receive this notification, please take a moment to complete it at your earliest convenience. Thank you for your support.
Families, could I please ask that you ensure your child takes their scooter, bike and helmet home each day? Unfortunately, we are unable to guarantee the security of bikes and scooters left at school overnight, and any items left on school grounds are done so at the owner's risk.
We appreciate your support in helping us keep the school grounds clear and ensuring that personal belongings are returned home safely each day.
From Monday 17th August, I will be taking long service leave. During my absence, Ms Thompson will be Acting Principal and Ms Davis will be Acting Assistant Principal.
I leave the school in very capable hands and look forward to hearing all about the learning, achievements and events that take place while I am away when I return on Wednesday 7th October.
Nicole
