PE and Sport

Jump Rope For Heart
Jump Rope for Heart has officially begun for Term 3 and it has been fantastic seeing so many students at recess and lunch grab a skipping rope to practice their skills with their friends. This program has been going on for over 40 years and all donations go to the Heart Foundation to fund research into heart disease. Students have been given a key ring and a flyer with information on how to donate and I have noticed a few donations rolling in already. At the very least, learning how to skip has fantastic benefits for student health so if this is the minimum we are achieving then it has been worth all the effort so far. Hoping for our school to hit our goal of $2,000!
PE Focus
For the first half of the term, students in 1/2 are working on a balance unit involving a range of activities designed to develop this fundamental movement. The engagement has been fantastic and they are working very hard to improve their technique with some of the trickier activities such as the beam pole walk!
