Dear BPPS Families,

As we move further into Term 3, it has been wonderful to see our students embracing every opportunity both inside and outside the classroom. Whether it is academic learning, leadership, sport or extracurricular activities, our students continue to demonstrate our school values of Care, Respect, Responsibility and Inclusion. Thank you to our staff and families for your ongoing partnership in supporting our students to thrive.

Junior School Council

This week, our first group of Junior School Council (JSC) representatives proudly presented at the School Council meeting.

The students presented a proposal focused on supporting safe play on the oval, confidently sharing their ideas and responding to questions from School Council members. It was fantastic to see our student leaders demonstrating confidence, thoughtful planning and excellent public speaking skills.

Other JSC representatives will have the opportunity to present their proposals at the next School Council meeting in August, ensuring all councillors have the opportunity to develop their leadership skills and contribute to school improvement

Athletics Training

Preparation is well underway for the upcoming District Athletics Carnival.

Our dedicated staff have generously volunteered their time to coach students in Years 3–6 before school and during lunchtime training sessions.

A sincere thank you to our staff for their commitment to supporting our students and helping them prepare for competition. Their willingness to give up their own time provides wonderful opportunities for our students to develop confidence, skills and teamwork.

Building Project

Our exciting building project continues to progress well. We are now moving towards the completion of the final design phase and expect to be in a position to share more detailed information with our community very soon.

We appreciate everyone's patience and support throughout this exciting journey and look forward to showcasing what will be a wonderful learning environment for our students for many years to come.

Staff Professional Learning

Our commitment to continuous improvement remains a key priority throughout Term 3.

Recently, staff have been working together on:

  • strengthening responsive teaching practices to ensure every student receives the right support at the right time;
  • co-creating Boroondara Park Primary School's Student Voice and Agency Definition, helping establish a shared understanding of authentic student participation in learning;
  • continuing to develop our BPPS Playbook, which captures our agreed instructional practices and supports consistency in delivering high-quality teaching across every classroom.

This collaborative work ensures that every student benefits from evidence-informed teaching and consistent, high-quality learning experiences.
