As soon as we kicked off Term 4, we had our first Sunday dedicated to hosting a special combined service which saw The King’s College and its parent church – The King’s Chapel join together for The King's Celebration Service on 19 October.
It was a fantastic service which integrated both young and old as we worshipped, prayed, rose to new challenges of our mission, and of course – enjoyed a delightful morning tea courtesy of The King’s Chapel.
Our Chapel Crew led worship, demonstrated the MOSH pit to everyone, and ran production. Ps Michael and Ps Maighread hosted the service, including news and highlights from the College and church in 2025, and gave fun interviews with Ps Joanne Thomas (ex-Principal), Mr Daniel O’Malley (current Principal) and our Year 12 Student Daylon Van de Westhuizen.
The College community got to meet Mrs Laurelle Coto, our incoming Principal for 2026, who read the scripture of the day for us. Ps Mihael McCoy preached a great message about living a significant life – one which honours God by serving others rather than being inward and self-centred.
We closed with a moving item from our beautiful Governor’s Prayer Breakfast worship leaders, who led “Goodness of God”. Dr Gerry and Ps. Maureen McCoy prayed for blessings, strength, and peace as we finish our school year and prepare for Christmas.
Even with torrential rain, we loved being all together under one roof, representing and remembering all the great things God is doing at The King’s.
Thank you to all the staff, parents, students and The King’s Chapel team who contributed to this special day.
