MISSION CENTRAL

SRC Updates – by Jonathan O’Farrell, SRC Captain

The SRC has had a very successful year, consisting of many cleanups, fundraisers and initiatives. From our cleanups happening every term, with over 40 bags of rubbish picked up from around the College grounds and the surrounding area, to helping pioneer change within our community. Along with these, we have created new initiatives such as the Rosies Biathlon, bringing athletes and friends together to help run and swim for those in need. Finally, we have hosted fundraisers for each of the sports carnivals, with the most recent fundraising for Rosies and Vinnies at Wednesday's swimming carnival.

The SRC is proud to launch the annual St Vincent de Paul Hamper Appeal to support those experiencing homelessness this Christmas. Contributions are essential to making a difference in the lives of those less fortunate. We encourage everyone to bring in non-perishable goods such as canned food, packaged items, toiletries and small, festive treats. The SRC will visit every homeroom with baskets to collect these goods. Let’s unite to spread Christmas cheer and provide much-needed support to our community this holiday season. Thank you for your generosity.

Prefects farewell dinner

Congratulations to the prefects of 2026 on a job well done in leading the College throughout this year. Thank you to Mr Seivers for sponsoring the farewell dinner at the RSL Club, a fitting celebration and expression of gratitude for their service. The prefects have made a positive and lasting contribution to the College, and it has been a pleasure to work alongside them. On behalf of the College community, we wish them every success in the future and, more importantly, hope they continue to embody the values of Marist men as good Christians and good citizens.
