Asthma Week 2026

It's Asthma Week and this year  Asthma Australia is sharing an important message for people living with asthma:  She Needs to Breathe

Asthma has a significant impact on girls' health - it's the leading cause of disease burden among girls aged 1-9, and after puberty, asthma becomes more common in girls than boys. 1 in 5 Australian women live with asthma.

This Asthma Week, Asthma Australia is shining a light on the connection between hormones and asthma, helping more wormen and girls recognise changes in their symptoms and get the care they need.

Hormonal changes, like those experienced during puberty, can affect asthma symptoms and control.  But these changes aren't always recognised or talked about.
