Children's University

In Week 7 we welcomed Laura from children's University to Modbury School. The students from Children's University were invited to bring some friends and complete a challenge, earning extra hours towards their graduation.
Students had 20 minutes to create something they could wear, using only cardboard, and the tools provided: a cardboard saw, a cardboard screwdriver and screws, and a cardboard cutter. It was fantastic to see their ideas come to life as they imagined, problem solved, and created. There were crowns, bracelets, necklaces, wrist warmers, and even a backpack with straps. Great work every one!
The holidays are the perfect time to collect extra hours towards graduation. It can be a good idea to keep them in the glovebox so that they are on hand if you decide to visit a learning destination on a whim. Students in vacation care can complete a reflection of their time at OSHC to earn an additional 10 hours! If you are having some quite time at home in the holidays, there are also plenty of opportunities to complete activities in the online portal.
Many children handed their passports to Mrs. Flavel during Week 9 to have them signed and returned before the end of Term 2- if your child has not yet handed in their passport, they can give it to Mrs. Flavel after the school holidays, so that they can keep collecting hours during the break.
