Deadly Science Webinar

Our Millgrove Seniors participated in a Deadly Science webinar led by Corey Tutt, a Kamilaroi man and CEO of Deadly Science, exploring his picture book Come Home, Bigibila. The session followed the journey of an echidna returning to Country and was designed for primary students. It was a 45-minute online session that provided an engaging and meaningful learning experience for both students and staff. Here are some of the students’ thoughts on the session:

Today I watched a webinar by Deadly Science. They read a story about an echidna. We learnt that echidnas can survive floods and fires, and they can also swim. I really enjoyed the webinar. We got to join it on our laptops and ask questions in the chat.

Annabelle

Today we watched a webinar by Deadly Science at school. We learned about some animals and got to read a story called ‘Come Home, Bigibila’ and learned about echidnas.

Declan

Today we watched a video chat called Deadly Stories. Corey read his book about an echidna. It was a baby at the start. Echidnas can swim and can survive fires and floods.

Monique

In the webinar I asked a lot of questions about echidnas and I learnt they have 4 feet and they can swim. They can survive fires and floods.

Today we watched the Deadly Stories webinar by Deadly Science. I really enjoyed it. My favourite part in the story was when the echidna got rescued from the eagle. It was put in an enclosure and had to escape to get home.

We had a webinar from Deadly Science. Corey read his picture book about a story where an echidna explored the wild. Then a lady rescued him from an eagle, put him into a zoo where nothing was the same as his country, his home. So it had to escape back to his home. Then everyone asked Corey and the presenters very random questions about reptiles and echidnas.
