Upper Yarra RSL ANZAC Ceremony

Thank you to the Upper Yarra RSL for once again hosting such a wonderful Grade 6 ANZAC Ceremony. We are incredibly proud of all of the students who participated and presented on the day. As always, our students showed great respect and represented Millwarra Primary School beautifully.

We would also like to thank the Upper Yarra RSL, Wayne Morgan, Des Callaghan, Ron Thomas, Jim Child, Yarra Ranges Council, Aaron Violi and Cindy McLeish, along with all of the speakers, for sharing their stories and helping make the ceremony such a meaningful experience for our students.

On Wednesday, we went to the Upper Yarra RSL. I didn’t think it would go so quickly, but all I had to do was read one paragraph, along with my friend’s paragraph about the war. It was definitely worth it because afterwards we all received sausages and a soft drink. We were also given little teddy bears dressed in different armed forces uniforms. I got a teddy wearing a little blue shirt that said ‘AIR FORCE’ on it.

At the end, we took a few photos with Andy and near the memorial wall, where all of the wreaths had been laid on the ground

We went to the Upper Yarra RSL to present a brief summary of the war. We listened to politicians, RSL representatives and ex-Servicemen, and students from other schools.
