Benkennie News
During their agriculture class, Benkennie worked collaboratively with their teacher to build a log wet area within the insect garden, designed to attract lizards and other small animals. They collected stones to place in the water dish after digging it into the soil, then arranged small logs around a larger log to create a safe drinking spot for bees and other small animals. Benkennie enjoy their lessons & spending time with the animals.

DAIR Program
Drug and Alcohol Information and Resilience Skills
The DAIR program is designed to provide opportunities for young people to increase their knowledge of alcohol and other drugs, safety strategies and help and support strategies and services.
Over the past four weeks, students from the support unit have participated in the Youth Solutions DAIR program, learning how to make positive and safe choices when it comes to drugs, alcohol, and wellbeing. The group has worked together to design messages that support everyone in our school to make responsible, safe decisions and to look out for one another.
What We’ve Learned:
A good friend is someone who listens, supports you, and respects your choices.
Looking after your mates means checking in, including others, and helping them make safe decisions.
There are lots of support services available to young people looking for professional help

Why It Matters:
The DAIR program has helped us understand that we all have a role to play in creating supportive, safe, and inclusive school environments. When we look after our mates, we build a stronger community for everyone.
