We’ve wrapped up our Wide Reading Program for another year. The library staff hope our Year 7 and 8 students enjoyed their time reading and talking about books! If your child is looking for something to read over the holidays, our library grants access to thousands of free ebooks and audiobooks using their student emails: https://eldersliehs.eplatform.co/

The library is also a hub of social activity, with a variety of different clubs running during the breaks. This term we added a new Creative Writing Club to support our budding writers. We’ve got 24 students meeting every Wednesday and sharing feedback on each other’s work.

Nerd Club Report with Mr Debono

2025 has been another successful year of Nerd Club, now with around 60 students involved each Wednesday. Over the year we’ve seen many games played, everything from traditional card games, to more complicated cooperative board games. A particular favourite of mine, chess, has seen genuine uptake with several students becoming more competent players; 53 games were recorded, and many more went unrecorded. Additionally, we’ve seen many students dramatically improve their social skills, along with problem solving, and conflict resolution!
