Dance and Drama

Celebrating Our Year 9 Drama Stars! Early this term our talented Year 9 Drama students took to the Seymour Centre stage at the State Drama Festival — and what an incredible experience it was, we were so excited to be selected.

From attending a fantastic workshop on Character and Exaggeration, to preparing for their performance in the dressing rooms, and even sharing a fun dinner together at Broadway Shopping Centre, the day was full of creativity, teamwork, and unforgettable memories.  We even caught up with one of our CAPA Alumni, Maya Ascaino from the Class of 2018, who works at the Seymour Centre!

Congratulations to our performers for representing our school and the In The Spotlight Drama Festival with such energy, enthusiasm, and passion for the arts!

Congratulations to the dancers who performed at  Schools Spectacular “Remarkeable” Elderslie High School was represented by 10 Dancers in the Combined Dance - All For One. Claire Dodd, Charlize Samillan, Maddux Shearer and Chloe Young from Year 8. Alysah Bliss, Phoebe Lee and Ella Santa Maria from Year 9, Scarlett Bowser, Kirra Douglas and Emily Radisic from Year 10. Kaliska Nenadic, Ella Smith and Kimberley Smith from Year 12 performed as featured dancers in Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre and Hip Hop. Kimberley Smith and Ella Smith from Year 12 performed with the NSW Aboriginal Dance Company. These Year 12 students enjoyed their final Schools Spectacular after having been involved throughout their high school life as featured dancers and members of the Aboriginal Dance Company.  All of the students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and made many new connections with like minded people. The CAPA staff encourage students to be involved in any of the featured ensembles in the future as it is a wonderful experience.

The 2025 Schools Spectacular will be broadcast on Channel 7 on December 19 at 7PM. The show will be a chance to relive the electric atmosphere of the live performances at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney Olympic Park.

Look out for Elderslie High School Dancers throughout the show!

What a day!  For two decades, our school has proudly taken the stage at the Schools Spectacular. This year, we added a new chapter to that history.  Our CAPA Faculty took students to see the matinee performance for the very first time, and the excitement was contagious! The talent, energy, and creativity on stage left our students inspired and eager for what’s next. A truly special day out.

Music

Congratulations to our talented vocalists, Kaitlin Madsen, Mikayla Marshman, Caitlin Parker, Scarlett Bowser and Grace Schaeffer.  The girls performed at the Camden Community Cabinet for our Premier, Mr Minns and Cabinet Ministers. Although very nervous, they sang beautifully and really added to the positive vibe of the event. Thank you to Sally Quinnell MP for selecting us to perform.  Thank you to the NSW Government for providing us with these photos.

Maxwell and Alex from Year 9 delighted the crowd with their fantastic performance at the Mawarra Public School Fete last weekend. Their talent and enthusiasm truly shone, bringing joy and energy to the event. We are incredibly proud of their dedication and passion, and we look forward to seeing more from these talented students in the future!  Well done boys!

Music students in Year 9, 10 and 12 have been working with EHS alumni Jacob Nicastri from Narellan Music Centre. These students have been building their knowledge of servicing and maintaining classical, acoustic and electric guitars through this amazing program throughout Term 4.
