Junior School News

I huge welcome to our new Year 7 families and welcome back to the Year 8s.
The first two weeks of Year 7 have been filled with excitement, new experiences, and a wonderful sense of community as our newest students settle into secondary school life.
A highlight of the fortnight was the special Smoking Ceremony held alongside the Year 12s. This meaningful event allowed students to connect with culture, reflect on their journey ahead, and feel a strong sense of belonging within the school. It was a delightful and memorable way to mark the beginning of their secondary school adventure.
The Year 7s have quickly embraced their new routines, making friends, meeting their teachers, and finding their way around. Excitement is also building for their upcoming camp next week—an opportunity to form even stronger friendships and create lasting memories.
We had a wonderful night on Tuesday 11 February for the Year 7 parents. It was an information session followed by a social get together provided by the wonderful PFA. Thank you to all of the staff involved.
Meanwhile, our Year 8 students have been focusing on developing essential skills for success. They recently participated in an incursion run by Elevate Education, where they explored effective time management strategies to help them stay organized and on top of their studies.
It’s been a fantastic start to the year, and we look forward to seeing our students continue to grow and thrive in the weeks ahead!
