LCS Swimming Sports

Well done to the Grade 3-6 students who competed at the LCS Swimming Sports yesterday. They should all be very proud of their efforts and achievements. It was great to see lots of parents and family members who come along to cheer the students on.

This week in STEM students in the Junior Department have began to learn about Materials and their features. "Our Busy Explorers" created a set of Binoculars which allowed them to explore the classroom and school. They discovered lots of different materials and discussed the important of these materials.

The Senior area began to unpack the topic "Energy". They learnt about the various forms of energy and how these can be transformed from one source to another. e.g A light produces light energy, but also uses electrical energy to turn on and heat energy if it is left on. This week they also began to design their own "Rube Goldberg" Machine, which essentially is a chain of events using various forms of energy to produce an end product (something to happen).
