Student Representative Council - Keenya Heerah

Hello my name is Keenya and I am the 2026 SRC Executive Member! I am very excited to be in this role and I hope to truly help make a difference this year at Macleod! As I've been working closely alongside the Student Leadership team through many meetings, and we have put together many ideas and exciting events for fundraising this year to improve our school such as air conditioning in our classrooms - as you’ve probably noticed it gets terrible in the summer. I hope to listen and take real action toward your concerns and ideas and of course, connect with our community to ensure all students feel that their words do matter. I hope you all are looking forward to upcoming events! Feel free to suggest any ideas for our community!

Harmony Day - Nika Heydariasil

Macleod College was honoured to host Harmony Day for its students on March 31, 2026. This day marks the commemoration of cultural diversity and the connection between the students. Staff and students had the opportunity to wear their cultural clothing to share their background and diversity within the school. Harmony Day is an important celebration for Macleod College as we have a highly multicultural community, including our international students. Harmony Day is held every year to celebrate our community, and for students and staff to share their culture. In addition to the diversity celebration, the Student Leadership Team and Events Team took this opportunity to fundraise for school facilities. A barbecue was held at lunchtime, serving sausage sizzles and drinks, to help with raising money for the school. The money raised from this event will directly fund upgrades to facilities around the school. Overall, Harmony Day was a successful event, both for sharing cultural diversity and fundraising for school facilities, and Macleod College will continue to commemorate this day in the upcoming years!
