Wellbeing

Students at Macleod College have accessed a range of wellbeing programs and supports across Term 1.
Most recently, our Year 10 and 11 students have participated in the Big Sister Experience and Man Cave programs. Big Sister supports to equip young girls with the tools to support each other and themselves through the challenges of adolescence and beyond. The Man Cave’s Student Workshops are a series of whole-day experiences that encourage participants to explore the concept of masculinity and to build healthier relationships with themselves and those around them.
Banyule Youth Services also came to school last week, talking with students about the holiday programs they offer.
Breakfast Club continues in Term 2 on Monday and Wednesday mornings starting at 8.00am for any students who would like breakfast and a chat. It has been great to see students starting their school day with a visit.
Multi-tiered systems of wellbeing support continue to be utilised to meet the needs of all our students, within their classrooms and Wellbeing spaces available to students. Parents and students are encouraged to reach out to the year level leaders and/or myself if individual wellbeing supports would be beneficial at any time. Within our Wellbeing centre, students can access counselling support, art therapy, health promotion and support via our secondary school nurse program, as well as access and referrals to a range of wellbeing programs and supports both within and outside of our school.
