Principal's Report

Term 1 has certainly been a very busy term with over 40 school events being held in 50 school days. I am fortunate to be surrounded by some fantastic people and would like to thank everyone for their ongoing hard work and support.
Open Night – Wednesday 25 March
The College held its annual Open night on Wednesday 25 March. I received many positive comments regarding the educational programs (academic, extracurricular and wellbeing). Thank you to everyone who helped out on the day. We will continue to reaffirm our message that we are a community focused school that provides the very best learning opportunities for all of our students.
Parent Teacher Student Conferences
We have just held two Parent Teacher Student sessions this term – 2 hours face to face and one all day online. We will be seeking feedback next term to identify whether parents have a preference for online or face to face in planning for Semester 2.
Social Media and College Promotions
Hopefully many of you are seeing the work being done to develop the community perceptions of the college, particularly through various social media outlets. I am very proud of the work done in and out of classrooms at Macleod, so the very visible public celebration of this linked to the college values seems to be making an impact in the community. Feedback has been that our social media is really engaging our broader community.
Thanks to Chloe Pedrazzoli and Damiano Lo Nigro who oversee our social media, the Staff and students who are contributing.
Theatre seating
I am pleased to announce that we have finally begun work on replacing the old “pull out” seats in the bottom section of the theatre. Thank you to Jayden and Ivan who worked tirelessly to remove the old seats. New electric seats will be installed over the holidays, and I am sure that anyone with long legs will be most appreciative of them. This work concludes the upgrade of the theatre which has involved carpet being replaced, a new sound system installed, upgraded lighting, new seats (upstairs and down) and a repaint. I am sure that it will be a valuable resource for our school for many years to come
