We have been learning about the life cycle of a butterfly in STEM/Arts. Through songs, stories, actions and practical activities students learned the different stages of a butterfly's metamorphosis.
We created information books and life cycle plates. To celebrate our learning, we created painted and collaged cellophane butterflies. As part of this activity, we discussed the symmetry of a butterfly's wings and tried to replicate this in our own work.

In Foundation Mathematics, we have been learning to subitise numbers to ten, using different representations and various formats. Here is one activity we enjoyed to extend our learning. We used dominoes to subitise and match numbers. This activity was very popular and students enjoyed surprising their partners with which domino they connected.
