In Core Literacy Skills, 4A have been learning how to make their writing more interesting by choosing more descriptive verbs. Students practised identifying simple verbs and replacing them with better choices to improve their sentences and make their writing more engaging for readers.

Over the past two weeks, students in 3B have been developing their problem-solving skills during our weekly SEL lessons.

We began by exploring what a problem is and discussing how problems can arise in everyday situations. Students then put their teamwork skills to the test in a fun "Human Knots" challenge, where they had to communicate calmly, listen to one another, and work together to get "unstuck". There were plenty of laughs along the way!

In our second session, we built on this learning by exploring the Roads and Roundabouts problem-solving framework. Students learned that when faced with a problem, there are often many different choices and pathways they can take. Working in small groups, they were given a range of scenarios and collaborated to develop positive solutions. Students enjoyed sharing their ideas and presenting their problem-solving strategies to the class.

4B has been enjoying our class serial read, The Wild Robot. We are almost at the end of the story, and the students are very excited to discover what happens in the final chapters. They have loved following Roz's journey and have been making predictions about how the story will end.
