Prep Learning Reflection

Prep Week 7 - 8 

What a busy and exciting few weeks we have had in Prep!

Our students have been given many opportunities to write personal messages using their growing letter-sound knowledge. It has been wonderful to see so many brave writers having a go, stretching out words and recording the sounds they can hear. We are very proud of their efforts and the confidence they are showing as young authors.

Our grassy heads have started to sprout, creating lots of excitement in the classroom! This has led to some fantastic discussions about living things and what they need to survive and grow.

We have also begun a new Geography unit as part of our Systematic Knowledge program. You may hear your child talking about suburbs, cities, countries and even planets as we explore how places are connected and organised.

Home reading continues to be a priority, and we would like to thank families for their ongoing support. The regular practise of reading and sight words is making a noticeable difference to students’ confidence and progress.

In Mathematics, we have proudly completed our first Explicit Maths Program workbook! Our young mathematicians have shown great persistence and are glowing with confidence as they prepare to begin Book 2.

As we approach 80 days of school, we are encouraging students to say their goodbyes outside in the Prep area before entering the classroom independently. Building confidence, resilience and independence is an important part of their learning journey, and we greatly appreciate your support with this.
